Synergy 15 problem

Postby direnc » June 15th, 2014, 7:30 pm

I had used my Synergy for snowkiting a few years ago. Now I tried it on water, but something seems to be wrong.
When I try to fly it static at the edge of the window at 9 or 3 o'clock for assisted landing, the kite loses its arc shape, flattens and drifts back into the window. All straps loose, with extensions on back lines. Also, when I dive the kite for waterstart, it flattens similiarly.

What could be the cause of this problem?

Sounds normal to me...

Check the landing at 7:05 using a backstall to land

Hi direnc, the kite flattens and drifts back when the middle cells luff and thus don't produce any lift. Kite drifts back, AoA is up again and kite produces lift.

Reasons? It's a used kite and could be any sort of stretch.

Fix: I would
-get rid of the pig tail extensions. The SYN likes more back line pressure than the Venom.
-shorten the middle strap in the center cell (deflate zipper cell) by, let's say, 4-5cm.

that should take care of the center luff.
