Peter Lynn Synergy 12m - static jumping

Peter Lynn Synergy 12m - static jumping

Postby WackyWindsurfer » May 15th, 2015, 6:03 pm

Last monday we had a very nice 18-24 knots day at the beach. I took my 12m PL Synergy out for some jumping i.s.o. the 15m, which I have already jumped in comparable windspeeds.

Trying to see how much faster the 12m turns and if the jumping part still worked.
:D

Some short videos of the first part of the day:

Hello Wacky,

I own a Synergy 10 and a 12 also. The bridle was removed some time ago, would you mind taking a shot of their bridles and give me the length of every section of them? I would like to reconstruct them from fresh dyneema.
Thanks a mil'

(I also have a Nasa star3 7m.... 1.5m on its way.... :) )
Regards

Hi Avo,

As soon as I am able to get the kites out of their bags to roll them out.
I will have to take them to the beach, I do not have a garden with the needed space.

In the mean time, I have sent an email to the distributer of Peter Lynn, they are local to me, and requested for information about the specs of the original bridles.

Too sad the ARC set-up FAQ site (http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/mx5alan/arcs/ARCsetup_FAQ.htm does not contain any relevant info about the Synergy model.

I will get back to you when I have more info.

/edit

I have received the requested information from Vliegerop about the bridle setup of the Synergy.

You are the best!!!! I will rebuild the bridle using friction loops instead of the original pulley and see how it goes. Hope to do this in the few next weeks, but soooo busy right now....
Thanks a million!!!!!

You are most welcome Avo!
These Arcs must fly again.
;-)

I did ask for information about replacement pulleys, but have not received an answer for that part.

I believe some kitebuilders now use low friction plastic parts i.s.o. pulleys. Maybe trying to source these is a better option?

I found these being used by Peter Lynn on their LEI kites, like the Escape:
They are called: Ronstan Shock pulleys, see the image at the features, which can be sourced from sailing centers.
